Finally, the bundle comes with a lightweight, durable mesh storage bag with a drawstring closure.
Customer Reviews
Good quality portable gym
It is well constructed. Heavy weight nylon webbing used throughout. I was really impressed with the quick length adjustment system. the prone/ supine leg exercises are surprisingly hard! Register your warranty online and you can download a free video that shows how to adjust the difficulty of several exercises.
I am not a paid reviewer so no extraordinary statements here. It is ring training. There are many options out there. The advantage of this system is the quick adjust ability, able to attach just about anywhere, and foot straps.
Inconsistent quality: great idea, but potentially dangerous
I first used the TRX Professional at my gym (with a personal trainer) and was happy with the results and convenience. I decided to purchase my own TRX for home use on those days when I can't make it to the gym.
I purchased my TRX directly from Fitness Anywhere and was surprised that, after about a year of infrequent use, the right cam buckle started to slip. A brief internet search and a review of some of the reviews here on Amazon shows that other customers have experienced the same issue (cam buckle slippage). This is not only problematic because of the cost and promised quality of the item, but because it's dangerous; I fell to the floor when the cam recently suddenly slipped in the middle of a rep.
When I contacted Fitness Anywhere to inquire about simply replacing the defective buckle (a presumably inexpensive replacement part which I would have paid for), they responded that my product must be counterfeit. When I replied that I'd ordered it from them and gave the order number, they responded that my product was outside the one-year warranty period and that they would not replace it. They then offered me a paltry 20% discount on a new unit, though I'm not sure why anyone would spend nearly $200 on a product that may or may not be as defective as the first.
For the record, it sounds as if at least one other Amazon customer with a two-year-old TRX with defective cam-buckle actually received a replacement from Fitness Anywhere. I've written to them once more and asked them to at least be consistent with their treatment of other customers, and hope they will take a look at a picture of the defective buckle on my unit. But based on their responses so far, I am not hopeful. I should note that I have made three purchases from Fitness Anywhere in as many years and have widely recommended the unit. I'd have hoped that Fitness Anywhere would treat loyal customers better and I recommend any potential customers consider this information before spending hundreds of dollars on anything this company sells.
I will post more information about their response once the issue is (or is not) resolved.
Great system, with caveats
I purchased this because of all the favorable reviews, and have been waiting to write my review until after I used the system for several weeks. I bought the system as part of setting up a home gym. I have been regularly working out in the gym for several years, and don't want to clutter up my house with tons of big equipment.
The Good:
Excellent easily adjustable workout
Easily transported
Solid quality
The bad:
(not really bad, but limitations)
I am near 50, and in, for my age, very good condition. While I can do all of the proposed exercises with the system. It is clear to me this is not a piece of equipment geared toward out of shape people or people with poor balance. Some of the upper body exercises, with both feet on the ground, can easily be used by less fit individuals or individuals with poor balance, and in fact, used to good effect. For them, this system would provide an excellent supplement to an easier workout.
Overall, I am really glad I purchased this, and use it 4 times a week, in conjunction with other equipment (mat work, pullup bar, cross country ski machine and exercise ball).
Understanding the limits, buy it - you won't regret it.
